Lac Vieux Desert Trail Society, National Society Children of the American Revolution (N.S.C.A.R. or C.A.R.)

The Lac Vieux Desert Trail Society, C.A.R., is the youth version of its parent Daughters of the American Revolution and Sons of the American Revolution organizations. We are currently the only C.A.R. society in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and we welcome any child who descends from an American Revolutionary War Patriot from birth through the age of 21.

The purpose of C.A.R. is to honor our Patriots and veterans and to promote the training of children to be good citizens and leaders of tomorrow. The children serve in officer and committee positions, and have the opportunity to serve in state and national positions as well! Every year, the new national C.A.R. president comes up with a project and theme for the year, and a national program is created and distributed to all societies to participate in national contests and Merit Awards.

The Lac Vieux Desert Trail Society, C.A.R., is affiliated with the Onagomingkway Chapter, NSDAR, and meets once a month on the Thursday before the Onagomingkway Chapter, NSDAR, meeting. We also get together for projects or special events, such as the “Missing Man Table” project, or the Michigan State Society C.A.R. (M.S.C.A.R.) State Conference.
